Punctum

In short: your photos and the lines you write stay on your phone. We, the makers of Punctum, never receive them. The only places they can go are ones you choose: your own Google Drive backup, an app you share a card to, or a file you export.

What stays on your phone

Your moments: the photo you choose for each day (stored as a copy without location or camera details), the line you write, and the dates.
Suggestions: Punctum looks at the day's photos on your phone to suggest candidates. This happens entirely on your phone; photos are never uploaded for analysis.
Settings and reminders: your reminder time and choices. Reminders are scheduled on your phone; there is no notification server.

Photo access

Punctum asks for access to your photos so it can suggest candidates from each day. You can allow all photos, only selected photos, or none (then you pick photos yourself). You can change this at any time in Android settings.

Google Drive backup (optional)

If you turn on backup, Punctum saves your moments (photos, lines and dates) to a hidden app folder in your own Google Drive, so your archive can move to a new phone. Punctum asks Google only for access to this app folder: it cannot see any of your other Drive files, and only Punctum can read the folder. We cannot see it. Signing in and storage are provided by Google under Google's privacy policy; Google Play services may record technical information about these requests (for example that a request was made and whether it succeeded), without the content of your moments.

You can turn backup off in Punctum's settings at any time. To delete the backup, open Google Drive on the web, go to Settings → Manage apps → Punctum → Delete hidden app data.

Sharing and export

When you tap Share, Punctum makes an image card of that moment and hands it to the app you pick (for example Instagram). What happens next is governed by that app. When you export your archive, Punctum writes a file to the place you choose. Neither happens unless you ask for it.

Analytics and crash reports

Punctum currently sends no usage analytics and no crash reports to us. Google Play may give us aggregated, anonymous statistics about crashes and performance (Android vitals) under Google's own policies. If we add anonymous usage statistics in the future, they will never include your photos, lines or anything that identifies you, you will be able to turn them off in the app, and we will update this policy first.

Purchases

If Punctum offers a paid upgrade, payment is handled by Google Play. We never see your payment details.

Children

Punctum is not directed at children under 13.

Keeping and deleting your data

Your moments stay on your phone until you delete them or uninstall Punctum, which removes them from the phone. A Drive backup stays in your Drive until you delete it as described above. We hold no copy of your data, so there is nothing for us to delete on our side; if you have a question or a request about your data, write to us.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the UK GDPR, the EU GDPR or Turkey's KVKK) you have rights over your personal data, including access and deletion. Because your moments stay on your devices and in your own Google account, you can exercise these directly; for anything else, contact us at [email protected].

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update this page and its effective date, and tell you in the app if the change matters to what Punctum does with your data.

Fotoğraf erişimi

Punctum her günün adaylarını önerebilmek için fotoğraflarına erişim ister. Tüm fotoğraflara, yalnızca seçtiklerine ya da hiçbirine izin verebilirsin (o zaman fotoğrafları kendin seçersin). Bunu Android ayarlarından istediğin zaman değiştirebilirsin.

Google Drive yedeği (isteğe bağlı)

Yedeği açarsan Punctum anlarını (fotoğraflar, cümleler ve tarihler) kendi Google Drive'ındaki gizli bir uygulama klasörüne kaydeder; böylece arşivin yeni telefona taşınabilir. Punctum Google'dan yalnızca bu uygulama klasörüne erişim ister: Drive'daki diğer dosyalarını göremez ve klasörü yalnızca Punctum okuyabilir. Biz göremeyiz. Yedeği Punctum'un ayarlarından istediğin zaman kapatabilirsin. Yedeği silmek için Google Drive'ı web'de aç: Ayarlar → Uygulamaları yönet → Punctum → Gizli uygulama verilerini sil.

Paylaşım ve dışa aktarma

Paylaş'a dokunduğunda Punctum o anın bir görsel kartını hazırlar ve seçtiğin uygulamaya (örneğin Instagram) verir. Sonrası o uygulamanın kurallarına tabidir. Arşivini dışa aktardığında Punctum dosyayı senin seçtiğin yere yazar. Sen istemedikçe ikisi de olmaz.

Analitik ve çökme raporları

Punctum şu anda bize hiçbir kullanım analitiği ya da çökme raporu göndermez. Google Play, kendi politikaları kapsamında bize çökmeler ve performansla ilgili toplu, anonim istatistikler (Android vitals) sunabilir. İleride anonim kullanım istatistikleri eklersek, bunlar asla fotoğraflarını, cümlelerini ya da seni tanımlayan bir şeyi içermeyecek, uygulamadan kapatabileceksin ve önce bu politikayı güncelleyeceğiz.

Satın almalar

Punctum ücretli bir yükseltme sunarsa ödeme Google Play üzerinden yapılır. Ödeme bilgilerini hiçbir zaman görmeyiz.

Çocuklar

Punctum 13 yaşından küçük çocuklara yönelik değildir.

Verilerinin saklanması ve silinmesi

Anların, sen silene ya da Punctum'u kaldırana kadar telefonunda kalır; uygulamayı kaldırmak onları telefondan siler. Drive yedeği, yukarıda anlatıldığı gibi silene kadar Drive'ında kalır. Verilerinin bir kopyası bizde yoktur, bu yüzden bizim tarafta silinecek bir şey yoktur; verilerinle ilgili bir sorun ya da talebin olursa bize yaz.

Hakların
